Notes:

"LOOKING THROUGH A TEAR" represents a highlight in the career of JOHNNY FARNHAM. This album more than any other, witnesses the final proof that JOHNNY has 'come of age' as a vocalist. The voice that "dead-panned" its way through "SADIE THE CLEANING LADY) and "UNDERNEATH THE ARCHES" has long since vanished from the JOHNNY FARNHAM of today. In its place, there is a vibrant vocal strength, matured by experience and refined by constant practice. The JOHNNY FARNHAM of today possesses a confidence and sophistication that places him far above his contemporaries. All that remains of those distant "SADIE" days os that characteristic youthful enthusiasm that has placed JOHNNY as one of the mose liked and likeable personalities in the musical business. JOHNNY FARNHAM can no longer be classed as a 'pop' singer. He has developed a power and range so totally individual that it is difficult not to class him amongst the elite of the modern music vocalists. The programme on this album is a very special selection. Not only does it exhibit JOHNNY'S versatility and vocal "showmanship" but also, it progresses far beyond the limitations of a mere 'pop' singe's so called 'repertoire'. JOHNNY FARNHAM has emerged over the last year as a vocalist of memorable stature; an 'all round' vocal entertainer with a limitless appeal that recognizes no age boundaries. JOHNNY has made the metamorphosis from 'pop' singer to mature vocalist with admirable ease. - Michael Delaney
